Born in 1966 I did not come to Dover until I was seven. At 17 I joined the Army and trained as an electronics Engineer spending time in Germany and other locations. After moving back to Dover I eventually settled in the Clarendon area, met my partner and became a family man with the birth of my son.
I have been unhappy with local government decisions and policies, which do not seem to reflect the real needs of Dover. But rather than sit and moan about it I decided to try and do something about it. With the support of the Dover Alliance I have found a way of becoming a Town councillor without having to jump through party political hoops. Whilst I aim to serve the people in my Ward (many of whom are friends) I also believe more is required to make Dover a preferred destination for tourists rather than a transit point whilst waiting for a ferry. Dover deserves better!
